If you’re looking at using survey sites as a way to make money, this Qmee review is for you.
You’ll see just how to use the Qmee app, what are the different ways you can make money through it, is Qmee legit…and, most importantly, is it worth your time.
After all, if you’re in it to make money, you want to make sure that you’re maximizing your time. And as you’ll see, while Qmee has some definite positives, we’ll show you how there are other apps that definitely beat Qmee when it comes to getting you as much extra cash as possible.
Qmee review: Summary
Pros
Cons
Qmee is an app that pays you for doing a bunch of different things, including completing surveys. One of the best parts of it is that there’s no minimum payout amount, which is very rare for these kinds of apps and great for making sure you actually get paid.
However, you’re much more likely to earn better money from other similar apps, like Swagbucks. The sign-up bonus alone for other apps makes them much faster for you to earn real money with them, compared to Qmee.
This means that while it’s worth it to check out our Qmee review for more information on this app, you may want to consider signing up for some of the others we’d recommend due to their much higher payouts.
- Swagbucks (which gives you a $5 welcome bonus just for signing up)
- InboxDollars (which gives you a $5 sign up bonus when you verify your email address)
- Survey Junkie (no sign up bonus but very high paying – including the chance to be paid $150 per hour for joining focus groups)
How does Qmee work?
Qmee works by paying you to do tasks such as completing surveys, searching the web, answering daily polls and pop quizzes and referring friends to their app. You’ll be paid through PayPal, with Qmee having no minimum payout amount.
To do these tasks, you’ll have to sign up for a Qmee account and then either download the app or use Qmee’s Chrome extension, depending on how you want to make money with this app.
Qmee sign up process
To join Qmee, simply go to the Qmee login page and enter your email address and password. It’s really that easy.
One thing to keep in mind that Qmee is only available if you’re in the US, the UK, Australia or Canada. This means that if Qmee isn’t available in your country, you unfortunately won’t be able to sign up.
One of the first things you’ll have to do is to complete your survey profile. The aim here is to make sure Qmee can match you with surveys that are looking for people that meet certain criteria.
This means that it’s a good idea to provide as much information as possible here as it will save you time going forward. That is, going into detail here will make sure that you’ll only be shown surveys for which you’re a good fit rather than you starting to do one and being disqualified due to not meeting the relevant criteria.
The questions are very broad, so it won’t involve you giving up any really personal information. You also don’t have to answer any questions you don’t want to – although, as mentioned, this means you may start doing surveys in future that you won’t ultimately qualify for.
How old do you have to be to use Qmee?
Qmee’s terms and conditions state that you have to be 16 years old to use Qmee.
These same terms and conditions also confirm what we said about, in that you have to be a resident of and access the Qmee site from either the US, the UK, Australia or Canada in order to use it. You’re also only allowed to have one account.

Download the Qmee app
You can download Qmee for Android or iPhone, with each Qmee mobile app being free and basically identical, especially in terms of how you can earn money through them.
The Qmee reviews in Google Play and the App Store are also overwhelmingly positive, with a rating of 4.4 and 4.5 out of 5 respectively based on a total of over 37,000 reviews. This shows that downloading the Qmee app is a pretty safe bet for anyone looking to earn some extra money in this way.

Qmee vs Swagbucks
Both apps have their pros and cons but in the question of whether Qmee or Swagbucks is better, our pick is easily Swagbucks.
For instance, you can get a $0.50 welcome bonus by signing up for Qmee here, which is definitely a good starting point.
On the other hand, you’ll get a free $5 for signing up with Swagbucks. Getting ten times less when signing up with Qmee vs Swagbucks should be a pretty clear indicator on its own.
Swagbucks is also known for paying out at higher rates than Qmee. While neither Qmee nor Swagbucks will make you rich, if you’re doing this just to earn a few extra dollars, you’re likely to earn more with Swagbucks.
This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t sign up with Qmee – after all, you can always sign up with both! But if you’re going to focus on one of them, I’d definitely recommend Swagbucks as being a much better use of your time.
Check out our Swagbucks review to find out more.
Swagbucks
Free sign-up bonus: $10
A great app for making extra money, including with cash back from online shopping, watching videos, playing games and more.
And given it’s paid out over $550 million through Amazon, Paypal and other gift cards, it’s 100% legit.
How can I make money with Qmee?
There are a bunch of different ways that you can make money with Qmee, which will be available to you when you sign in through the Qmee dashboard.
This dashboard will show you things like which surveys are available to you, whether any of the other money-making options are open and how much you’ve earned.
1. Qmee surveys
Qmee surveys are what this app is known for and for good reason – it’s where most money is able to be made through this app.
The surveys aren’t actually from Qmee. Instead, they’re from partner companies, meaning that Qmee basically hosts the surveys on its app. This means it’s kind of like doing a paid focus group directly from your phone or computer.
You can see some examples of these surveys below:
As you’ll see, each survey gives you an estimated time for completing it – although it’s worth noting that, in our experience, these weren’t always accurate.
You can also see how much you’ll be paid for completing each one, which gives you a good idea of your approximate hourly rate when doing these. For example, a five-minute survey that pays you $1.17 is equivalent to you earning $14.04 per hour, which really isn’t bad.
Of course, you’re not going to do survey after survey after survey, so it’s pretty unlikely that you’ll actually be able to earn the full $14.04 within an hour of using Qmee.

2. Qmee searches
Another thing that this is known for is for letting you do Qmee searches for money.
How it works is that you can be paid based on the Qmee search results that appear when you search normally in Google. By installing the Qmee Chrome extension, a bar will appear alongside your search results like in the picture below.
If you click on any of the results that appear, you’ll earn the amount seen alongside it.
As you can see from the picture, the Qmee best paid searches are anything that earns over around $.12, with even the good Qmee searches earning more than $0.10.
You won’t make hundreds of dollars doing this, but in terms of letting you earn a few extra dollars form something you’d be doing already, it’s a pretty good option.
3. Discounts on online shopping
While it’s true that getting discounts on your online shopping isn’t strictly making money, it does result in you saving money – which is basically the same outcome.
If you install the Qmee web extension, you’ll be offered discounts on items you’re searching for. For example, in the picture below, if you search “photography” in Amazon, you’ll get the following result:
That is, just having the Qmee Chrome extension installed could save you up to $30 on your camera purchase – or whatever other item it is you’re looking for.
4. Qmee streaks
Qmee streaks help you earn even more money as a reward for using the app consistently.
What happens is that if you use Qmee for five days in a row, you’ll get a bonus of 10% on each survey that you do.
You can maintain your streak either by doing at least one survey every day or by completing the daily poll. If you’re short on time, the latter is probably easier as it literally only takes a couple of seconds.
5. Qmee daily poll
As just mentioned, the Qmee daily poll is probably the easiest thing you’ll do on Qmee. Just answer one multiple choice question that’s given to all Qmee users and you’re done.
The questions take no time at all as they simply involve asking your opinion on whatever the question is about. But they’re still worth doing, especially if you’re looking to maintain your Qmee streak as simply answering this one question is enough to keep that going.
To find the daily poll, check the bottom of your Qmee dashboard.

6. Qmee pop quiz
Every now and then, Qmee will run a pop quiz for a certain period of time, usually around two weeks. This generally involves you “finding” the pop quiz as you navigate around the app and then you’ll have a short period of time to answer the questions.
These are actually pretty lucrative compared to some of your other earnings on Qmee, as you can be paid up to $1.00 for answering the question. The downside is that this isn’t available all the time as a way to make money through Qmee, so it’s good to take advantage of this when it’s on offer.
7. Qmee referral program
The Qmee referral program is another way to make money through the site without much work on your side.
The idea is that if you use Qmee, refer a friend to use it too and the app might pay you and them for it.
We say “might” because if you want to use Qmee and invite friends to use it as well, you’ll have three choices when it comes to your referral link that your friends use to sign up:
- You get the full $1 or £1 reward
- You and your friend share half of the reward each, meaning you’ll each get $0.50 or £0.50
- You can choose for your friend to get the full $1 or £1 reward
This is a bit of a different way to manage the Qmee refer a friend process compared to other apps, but it’s a nice twist.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that you’ll only earn this money (if you choose option 1 or 2) once your friend makes their first cash out from the app.

How much money can you make with Qmee?
Your Qmee average earnings will likely be a few dollars per hour at the most. This is assuming that you’re able to complete a few surveys during that period without being disqualified.
This means that your Qmee monthly earnings probably won’t be much higher, given that you presumably won’t be using Qmee full time.
For example, based on these Qmee reviews on Reddit, a few people report earning up to around $10 per month. Other comments, however, mention that they’re not earning anywhere close to that.
This shows that it’s important to consider whether it’s worth your time to continue to use this app based on your Qmee average earnings once you’ve tried it a few times.

How does Qmee pay?
Qmee pays through PayPal, as a gift card or as a charitable donation, although you won’t be able to get a gift card for your first payment. There’s also no minimum payout amount, meaning you can get your money as soon as you earn it. This is a major benefit of Qmee compared to other survey sites.
The reason for this limitation on the first payment is because Qmee needs to verify your identity, which it does by matching your details in Qmee against those in your PayPal account. This means that if you can’t get a PayPal account for some reason, you won’t be able to use Qmee.
(Find out how to get free PayPal money instantly here.)
The process of doing your Qmee cash out is also super easy. You simply go to your Qmee dashboard and follow the prompts through there in order to be paid, including entering your PayPal email address the first time you do it.
Just make sure that you enter the correct PayPal account as once your Qmee account is linked to your PayPal, it can’t be changed.
Qmee problems
There are various reports online of Qmee’s problems when users try to access certain features.
For example, there are a number of reviews on the Qmee Google Play page about Qmee not working, which seems to align with the fact that the app appears to be pretty buggy. To their credit, Qmee customer service replies very quickly to each complaint, either explaining the problem (as sometimes it really isn’t Qmee’s fault) or confirming that they’ll look into it.
Of course, we have no way of knowing if that’s actually true or not, but the fact that they respond individually to each comment with a Qmee problem rather than just having a standard canned response is worth mentioning.
There are also the occasional comments about the Qmee extension not working, with users reporting that they’re not getting clickable options for getting paid to search or they’re not being offered discounts on their online shopping.
While some of these are legit, others are because people are trying to buy things on sites where Qmee doesn’t offer discounts. There are also examples of people who’ve tried to game the system, Qmee has recognized this and so the paid search results are temporarily shut off.
If you don’t think you’ve done anything wrong and you still aren’t seeing Qmee discounts on sites where you do your online shopping, perhaps it’s best to try another app with a wider range of discounts, like Ibotta.
Qmee reviews
For an app that really doesn’t pay all that much, Qmee reviews online are still really positive.
For example, at the time of writing this, the Qmee Google Play page has a total score of 4.4 out of 5 based on around 32,000 reviews, which is extremely high for an app like this. Similarly, the Qmee App Store page has around 6,000 reviews with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5.
The reviews on the Qmee Trustpilot page are also very high for this kind of app.
The comments are equally as positive, in general, with any negative review having been responded to and clarified by the Qmee customer service team.
In terms of less positive Qmee reviews, Reddit has quite a few of these – but these are also mixed in with people who are more in favor of it. This Qmee Reddit thread, for instance, has a mix of people describing it as “slow and steady with no issues in years”, how people “like their quick and easy cash outs” and correctly observing that “as with all [survey] sites, you’re not going to become rich quick”.
Others, however, like this Qmee review on Reddit, give it 1/5 for money-making potential yet 5/5 for ease of use.
Qmee hack
There really is no Qmee hack that will help you to game the system and earn even more. In fact, trying to use “tricks” to make more money can get you disqualified from doing surveys.
This means that, if you’re looking for a Qmee money hack, some of the following tips can help:
- Read your survey properly to make sure you’re paying attention – Some of the questions are there to make sure you’re legitimate, like those that tell you to select option B. If you then select option D, the system will know that you’re just clicking through and not actually reading the questions.
- Install the Qmee browser extension – To make sure you’re taking advantage of as many money-making opportunities as possible, having the Qmee Chrome extension installed can alert you to these. This will ensure you’re able to make as much money as possible, even if you forget to specifically check your Qmee dashboard.
- Stick to doing surveys if you’re short on time – Qmee surveys generally offer the most pay out compared to things like getting paid to search. This means that if you can only focus on one thing in the Qmee app, surveys will be your best bet.

Is Qmee legit?
Qmee is legit, with thousands of positive reviews across sites like TrustPilot, Google Play and the App Store. While there are negative reviews, these are common for any sort of survey site and often relate more to people not qualifying for surveys rather than an issue with Qmee itself.
In particular, Qmee is legitimate in terms of the fact that you’ll definitely get any money you earn. While you may not earn all that much with Qmee (which is why we generally recommend signing up for better paying sites like Swagbucks instead), the fact you can access your Qmee earnings at any time rather than there being a minimum payment amount is a major positive for Qmee.
Is Qmee safe?
Qmee is safe, with its terms and conditions on privacy making it very clear that any information that’s collected about you in the course of you using the app won’t be specifically attributable to you.
For example, when you get paid to do Qmee searches, their Privacy Promise states that they will only store your search terms, not your general browsing habits.
In response to the question of is Qmee safe, Reddit also has nothing that indicates otherwise, which is generally a really good indicator that there are no major privacy concerns.
Final thoughts on our Qmee review
Based on our Qmee review, Qmee appears to generally be fine in terms of what it offers. It’s a legit app that pays you to do surveys, with its payment terms in particular setting it apart from other similar apps
But in response to the question of “Is Qmee good for making money?”, I’d hesitate to say yes. Sure, you’ll make some money using Qmee, but there are other apps that are far better when you consider how much you can earn.
The welcome bonuses alone make apps like Swagbucks ($5 sign up bonus for verifying your email address) and Ibotta ($20 sign up bonus when you redeem your first offer) much better deals, especially when you consider how long it would take you to earn that kind of money with Qmee.
In addition, the amounts you’ll be paid for using these other apps make them much more worth your while than Qmee.
So, sure, give Qmee a go. But if time is short and you’re looking to maximize your earnings in as little time as possible, some other apps may be better options.
